Two Big Changes at Logtivity

Hey, and thanks for using Logtivity.

I apologize for not sending more updates about Logtivity in recent months.

Mostly, we’ve been working on boring but important stuff. The biggest project was moving this platform from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to Laravel Cloud. This really was a breath of fresh air. AWS is a dinosaur from the user interface, to the billing practices, and the customer support. In contrast, Laravel Cloud is modern infrastructure platform built by the Laravel team. Logtivity is built on the Laravel framework, so they can support it better than anyone.

We’ve also made two strategic decisions that will impact your daily use of Logtivity.

#1. Logtivity will focus on activity logs

Over the last couple of years, we’ve tested various new ideas for Logtivity. For example, we experimented with error logs, recording Warnings, Notices, Errors and other PHP issues.

However, starting in September, our 100% focus will be on making the best activity log platform for WordPress in the AI era.

There are at least two elements to creating an activity log for AI:

First, we’re now letting everyone into our WordPress sites. It’s no longer just humans. Bots, agents, and services are swarming inside our sites. It’s important to know who is making changes and what they’re doing. So, we’re going target our activity log for this era. For example, when you see a plugin update, we want you to know who ran the update. Was it a staff member? ManageWP, WP Umbrella, MainWP, or a similar maintenance service? How about Claude, Codex, or an AI service?

Second, we’ll expose all your activity data. We want your AI tools to be able to access the activity log data. You’ll be able to use an MCP to connect your AI tools to Logtivity.

#2. Logtivity will become part of PublishPress

Logtivity is part of the same company as PublishPress. PublishPress provides publishing plugins for very similar customers to those we see here at Logtivity. It’s almost a much better-known brand with tens of thousands of customers and hundreds of thousands of plugin installs.

The honest truth is that this is a business decision. We think that this platform will get more eyeballs and grow faster as part of PublishPress. It will become part of a larger brand with a much bigger audience.

And, it’s just a lot of extra work to maintain a second brand. It’s not just the branding, but the social accounts, blog posts, newsletters, and everything that goes into maintaining a brand identity.

So, this will mean changes for Logtivity users:

  • We’ll retire the Logtivity name and redirect the URL. You’ll be able to access the activity log at app.publishpress.com. Your login details, API keys, plugin installs and everything else remain completely unchanged.
  • Our UI and the logos will match the PublishPress brand. So the design of the Logtivity admin screens will be more purple rather than blue.

We aim to make this move before the end of 2026.
